ARTISTIC EXPRESSION AWARD

Founder and principal at StudioHAU, Yo-ichiro Hakomori, received the USC Associates Award for Artistic Expression for the work being done at StudioHAU. The award recognizes his work as a designer of the Grand Rapid Art Museum, the world’s first LEED Gold certified art museum, as well as other art-related projects. The award states: "Hakomori is renowned for his distinguished designs, and for crafting elegant architectural space that is both beautiful and functional. His aesthetically powerful work rests in harmony with nature, advances sustainability, and draws upon the expressive possibilities of the materials he uses to build his structures.” Yo-ichiro Hakomori is very honored to be recognized by the University of Southern California for his teaching and creative work at StudioHAU.
