TURENSCAPE ACADEMY WORKSHOP: XIXINAN VILLAGE

Students in the USC Asian Architecture, Landscape, and Urbanism study abroad program (AALU 2016) participated in a workshop with Turenscape Academy at Xixinan Village in rural China. Led by Professor Yo-ichiro Hakamori from USC, and co-taught by Igancio López Busón and Bharne Vinayak, this one-week workshop targeted research on a multitude of sites in Xixinan village towards village masterplan. Students engaged with the local government and villagers, gaining knowledge of issues related to Xixinan’s culture, heritage, public space and water protection.
